New Layout

Hiya everyone,
I hope your Tuesdays are going well. I'm laid up with a bad knee today (always something wrong with me eh?!) I have no idea how it happened, all I can think is that I must have slept awkwardly and twisted it so there's not much I can do today so I thought I would make a new blog layout. It is so dull around this time of year so I decided to go for something bright and cheery, isn't the kit gorgeous?! I managed to pick it up while it was on sale last weekend from Scrap Orchard - there's a link to the kit down the bottom of the page if you love it as much as I do.

New Tutorials & A Tag

I woke up this morning to some wonderful creations in my inbox!
The first is a tag by Chas - isn't it stunning?! She always makes such lovely tags, I just wish she would lend me some of her mojo!

This one was by Tina who has used one of my templates to make a tutorial called Love is a flower - which I think is gorgeous. If you fancy trying it, it can be found here.

Another tut using my template this one by Lorna. I love the colours in this tag soooooo much lol If you fancy trying it, it can be found here called Funky Lovin.

And Finally, Wilma created a tutorial that I love using my Boyz Rule kit and pictures of her adorable son... isn't he cute?! The tutorial is in dutch and can be found here.

A big thank you to these 4 ladies for sharing their creations with me, it was a fab surprise to find these in my ibox this morning :c)

Latest with me

I'm glad that the new link to template 11 is now working, so sorry for the glitch.

I haven't been having too great a week this week. I've been in constant pain with my stomach, my wrists, the tops of my arms and elbow and shoulder on my left side which is making it hard to use the computer. I had an appointment to see my doctor at 1:35 Thursday afternoon so there I was sitting in the surgery waiting. When it got to 2pm the receptionist called me over and asked if I would see another doctor as mine had been called out to an emergency... I wasn't too happy but I ended up seeing my mother's doctor who was lovely. We have had some more results back and it's now been confirmed that I do have pernicious aneamia which means that my body can't absorb the vitamin B12 as opposed to not having enough B12 due to my diet, so at least now I know that none of this is my fault. Things are still pointing heavily towards me having PCOS, I should have an appointment through for around the end of November to go and have a scan to confirm it and then I can get on with the treatment. The only other thing that was brought up that I've not talked about before is my red blood count is higher than it should be. At the moment it isn't too bad but if it gets any higher then I would need to be put onto some blood thinning medication because of the increased risk of clots. Wonderful! Any more tablets and I'm going to start rattling when I walk lol
I have an appointment for more blood tests now in 3 weeks time and I'll see my doctor (hopefully my own this time) a week or so after that to get my results by which time I should have the appointment through for the ultasound and I'm due my B12 injection around then so the end of November is going to be busy for me.
As for scraps, I am working on a new kit but as I said I can't spend too much time on the computer until this pain eases but hopefully I will have it finished towards the end of the week as well as some more elements and templates.

FYI re Mystery Kit

Hiya everyone,
Thank you so much for all the downloads these last few days, you have well surpassed the 20,000 that I wanted. I would have been posting the kit tonight as everything's good to go but I'm having major problems with 4shared argh!! I've been trying to upload the files since 9pm, it's now 11:50 and so far only 1 has uploaded successfully. I've no idea why I'm getting "Your file has failed to upload" messages but I'm hoping that it's an issue with 4shared rather than with me. If it wasn't for having the builders in all week I would stay up through the night to get them uploaded but as I can't, I will have to try again tomorrow night. Sorry about the glitch!
Dee xx

Scalloped Frames Freebie

Fed up with stuff yet? This is my last post for tonight as I'm completely shattered and I have builders in tomorrow and for the rest of the week so I need my sleep!!
There are 4 scalloped frames in the pack, 1 square, 1 plain circle, 1 circle with dots and 1 circle with stars. Hope you like them.
See you tomorrow!

12x12 Templates 1, 2 & 3

There are some wonderful free templates available on the web so I thought I may as well try my hand at doing some too. Either I'll crash and burn or someone will like them. When I'm scrapping I tend to make Layouts that are clear, uncluttered and to the point which I think these templates are. I really hope you like them.

You Guys Are Fab!

All I can say is it's a good job I have the mystery Halloween kit finished because you've been snagging like mad today. 943 downloads in 24 hours, I am more than impressed. Thank you!! A massive thanks for all the wonderful comments you've been leaving me as well, these make me want to create more and more free stuff. Speaking of which... I am currently uploading 8 files now, not as many as I hoped but tomorrow's another day right?
Thank you again for all the downloads xx

Tutorial Using My Template

I've just looked in my inbox and saw this cute tag that was made using my template #3. Thank you Jill for showing it to me. If you would like to try this tutorial, you can find it here along with many other fab tuts. This one is called It's Fall :c)

Another Freebie? Maybe...

How do you fancy getting your hands on another freebie? A Halloween kit? Make that a mega Halloween kit that comprises of 29 papers and nearly 100 elements? Did I mention that it's 100% free? Are you interested? Do you want?
Well here's my challenge to you. I would like my total downloads to reach 20,000 - it's currently 18,819 so another 1,181 downloads to go. Tell all your friends about my blog, share the previews of my kits and a link to my blog with your groups, do what you have to. I have just posted two new kits, I have scrap templates, tag templates, frames and element packages to put the finishing touches to tomorrow and Tuesday so there will be plenty of new stuff to download so that I can get the kit. You can check how the downloads are going here, if/when they reach 20,000 I will post links to the kit the next time I am online.

I'm A Survivor Freebie

I couldn't let this month pass without making a Breast Cancer Awareness kit. Most of us know someone who has been diagnosed with the disease that does not discriminate. It doesn't care whether you're old or young, slim or curvy, even male or female. I was surprised to read about how many new male cases there are every year for a predominately female cancer. I did think about charging for this kit and giving the proceeds to the breast cancer appeal but instead I urge you all to donate something to the cause... every little helps!
I hope you like the kit, it is 12 x 12 300ppi and contains 12 papers, 70 elements and an alpha with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers & symbols. Not everything is shown in the preview.

Boyz Rule Freebie

Am I alone in finding it hard to make kits that are aimed at boys? I think because I haven't got any, there's no real inclination on my part anyway to create them but I know there are lots of you who do have little male darlings so I thought I would at least try and here's what I came up with. There are 9 papers and 39 elements so by my standards it is a mini kit although some of you might think differently! As always everything is created as 300 ppi and the papers are 12 x 12 so ideal for printing out. I hope you like and can use it.

Not A Good Blogger

My apologies in advance to those who have subscribed purely for news of new kits because this is going to be a pretty long winded post with an update on me for those of you who have been moaning that I haven't posted in a while and you've had to email me for news! Yep I mean YOU! lol
Health wise, I am not doing too badly. I last saw my doctor about 3 weeks ago and from the few results he had back, it's now highly likely that I have PCOS so he's referred me to the hospital to have an ultrasound done on my ovaries and see a specialist because it's not his field. He told me that both appointments would be classed as urgent... I've had two letters in the last 10 days, the first saying that I'm on the waiting list for an ultrasound which will take 8 weeks and an appointment to see a specialist will take anything up to 6 months. So much for urgent!! I'm still having blood tests done every few weeks, starting to feel like a human pin cushion! Wouldn't be so bad if they were only taking one tube of blood but it's 5 or 6 at a time. I now look upon my doctor's surgery as a second home... if only they had tea and coffee facilities, I'd be sorted!
The reason I am feeling better isn't down to medication as you might presume but I'm on a new diet and it's amazing. I don't need or want to lose a lot of weight but the way I was eating wasn't doing me any good. I was eating just one meal a day because I just wasn't hungry, sometimes I would even go for a few days without eating anything, my appetite was rubbish. A few weeks ago though I met a woman who was a herbalife consultant and got talking about the diet/nutrition plan. She had lost over half her body weight and when she showed me a picture of her before, you would never have guessed it was the same person. I started on the plan 10 days ago, it is so good. You substitute two meals for two shakes, have a balanced meal with protein, carbs and veggies and can have two nutritious snacks a day, e.g. fruit. The shakes are yummy and there are loads of flavours (I've got strawberry and cappuccino which is gorgeous with hot milk) my doctor was actually surprised how packed full of vitamins and nutrients they are and although he told me not to expect results because of the PCOS, I lost an inch off my chest, 3 inches of my waist, 2.5 off my hips and 2 inches from my thighs in the first week but the way I'm feeling since being on it is amazing. The great things as well is, when you've lost the desired weight and your BMI is at a healthy level, you cut down to one shake so you're still getting all the goodness and are less likely to put the weight back on. As you can tell I highly recommend this to anyone who needs to lose weight or just get healthy.
So that's me. Oh and even though I've been so busy this last month I have made up 2 new kits which will be posted soon and I have a surprise too hehehe

I'm Clever Challenge #2

It seems that last week's challenge was a success, you guys liked trying to figure the answers out.
The answers were...
(1)50 S of the USA - 50 States of the United States of America
(2)21 D on a D - 21 Dots on a Dice
(3)26 L in the A - Letters in the Alphabet
(4)64 S on a CB - 64 squares on a Chess Board
(5)366 D in a LY - 366 Days in a Leap Year
Easy when you know the answers!!

Moving onto this week's challenge... I've decided to go for something easier, movie tag lines! I'll post 5 different ones and all you have to do is tell me what movies they are from. When you are ready, email me at: taggedbydee (at) googlemail (dot) com with I'm Clever in the subject line, include your answers and name you will like on your tag providing that you are one of the first 5 to get them all right. Please also tell me if you are a member of my always list so that I don't provide you with a duplicate tag. Here's the tag lines...
(1) In space no one can hear you scream.
(2) On every street in every city, there's a nobody who dreams of being a somebody.
(3) Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water.
(4) Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.
(5) Don't Answer The Phone. Don't Open The Door. Don't Try To Escape.
I'm going to be strict with one of these, you have to give me the full film title. For example, if one of the above quotes is from The Godfather, I'd need to know if it was part 1, 2 or 3. None of them are from The Godfather though lol
The contest will end Monday September 15th at 11:59 pm. Look at the clock on the left if you are unsure of my time.
Good luck!

Hope you can use them.

A Touch Of Pink Kit

I've just finished uploading my new freebie kit, "A Touch of Pink'. What started off as a mini kit steadily turned into another biggie, I don't think I'm capable of making mini kits lol Included are 16 12 inch square papers in jpeg format and 90 elements that are png files. Everything is 300ppi so ideal for printing. The taggers size is 700 x 700 pixels.
I hope you like it and I'll try my best to get some quick pages out during the week and an alpha perhaps too. If you download please don't forget to leave me some love.

I've got a new tag template for you today, will have some more in the week, just need to make up some preview tags using them and I will share. I like including a 'sample tag' simply because templates don't always look so good on their own, know what I mean?
Anyway here's template #17 and the scrapkit used in my tag is from my new kit 'A Touch of Pink'. Hope you like & please say thanks if you download.

RE: I'm Clever Challenge #1

I neglected to mention this in my previous post...
Challenge #1 will close on Monday 8th September at 11:59pm. Any answers after that time will not be valid. To know the time where I am, there's a pretty big clock on the right hand side lol
Once again, good luck xx

I'm Clever Challenge #1

I love quizzes, puzzles and anything that will get the old grey matter working so I thought I'd do a trial run of a puzzle game, if people are interested I will do it every week.
I will post a few questions and all I want you to do is email me the answers. The first 5 people to get them ALL right will get a tag. If nobody gives all the correct answers then the winners will be the first 5 to get the most right. I should say too, that if I do this every week, the questions will not follow the same format, there could be quiz questions, true or false or anything that I fancy so if you don't like the look of this set of questions, check back next week.

Once you have the answers all you have to do is email me: taggedbydee (at) googlemail (dot) com with I'm Clever in the subject line. If you don't put anything in the subject line, I'll assume it's spam and will delete without reading it. Include your answers and the name you would like on your tag if you are a winner. Please let me know if you are a member of my Always List so that I don't give you duplicate tags. All emails will be answered even if it's just to let you know you haven't won.

Ok, ready for this week's questions?

An example: If 24 H in a D = 24 Hours in a Day, what are these?

(1)50 S of the USA
(2)21 D on a D
(3)26 L in the A
(4)64 S on a CB
(5)366 D in a LY

Good luck!

This challenge has now closed.

My Day & A Freebie

I had my first injection today for the pernicious aneamia/vitamin B12 deficiency and after being told by the nurse that it would hurt a lot, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes it hurt a little like any injection but it wasn't half as bad as I was beginning to imagine. I'm not sure if I am imagining it or not but I am beginning to feel a bit better. According to her though, I don't just have to have the 3 this week, I have to have them Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week too and then every 12 weeks after. I'll find out for certain on Wednesday when I have my next one. If it'll do me good which it will then I'm all for it. I would also like to thank everyone for the love, kindness and support I have been shown during all my health problems. When I have been having a very low day, it has been those messages that have helped to get me through. I have met some of the nicest people who have been there to listen to me moan, rant and cry and you will never know how much I have appreciated being able to do that, I just hope I can do the same for you.

I can't believe it was the first of September today, well yesterday as it's gone midnight, hasn't this year flown?!?! I finished getting the last minute bits and pieces that I'd forgotten for Jadie going back to school in the morning. I know most parents are very, very glad that it's that time of the year after having the kids off for the long summer holiday but I'm so going to miss having her home and under my feet all day lol I'm lucky that she loves going and I won't have to drag her out of bed in the morning. Good luck to those of you who have children starting their first school's this week, I hope everything goes well and they enjoy it.

Ooh and I have a freebie... Here is an alpha to go with my latest kit. It's saved as individual .png files (those alpha sheets drive me crazy too!) and is, of course, suitable for printing with the main kit. I have also made a taggers sized alpha, so those of you who would use it in your tags only can save a smaller file. It contains both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and a few symbols - 67 files in total.
I hope you like it & please leave a comment if you decide to download it.

New Kit - P.S. I Love You

As promised, here is my new kit. While I've been holed up resting these past few weeks I've watched P.S. I Love You numerous times. I'm not really a chick flick type of girl but I love chick lit and I bought a copy of the book when it first came out and couldn't put it down and the film is brilliant so here's my take of it. Who says love themed kits are just for Valentines?
There are two versions of it, the traditional 12x12 300ppi kit and one that is tag sized. The papers in both are .jpeg and the elements .png files.
I hope you like it and remember to leave some love if you snag it.

I'm Back!!

Whoa what a month it’s been for me. My ongoing health troubles have landed me in hospital twice in the last few weeks. The first time I was out with my little girl at a club she’s been going to during the school holidays when I developed chest pain, palpitations (my heart rate was 150+), pains in my arms and shoulders and feeling dizzy. I can’t tell you how scared I was, not only due to what was happening but this was the first time that Jadie had seen me have one of these ‘attacks’, all the others had happened at night when she was in bed luckily. I ended up being blue lighted the 20 or so miles to the nearest large hospital, I had a few ECG’s, a chest x-ray and various blood tests which all came back clear. They discharged me the following day after being fitted with a 24 hour heart tape which would monitor my heart beat and record the palpitations and any other abnormalities. I had the results back 10 days after being fitted with the tape but once again it was ok.
By this point I was really down in the dumps, I honestly couldn’t understand why this was happening when all the tests were coming back fine. It got to the stage that I felt like I was going mad and it was becoming such a struggle to get out of bed in the morning or even go out on my own incase I had another attack. Makes it sound like panic attacks doesn’t it? But it’s not, I do have answers which I’ll get to in a minute. I have also been feeling exhausted for the last few months. Before all this, I would happily survive on just a few hours sleep, now I sleep for 8 hours and cannot get through the day without having to have a few hours’ kip. I know I’m really lucky to have some great people around me who can look after Jadie while I go back to bed and I am so grateful for them.
So I ended up back in hospital again with the same symptoms and still all the tests came back negative, I stayed overnight and was discharged the next day. Yesterday I had an appointment with my doctor, I could kiss this man, I honestly adore him lol Not only is he getting answers but he is the most genuinely nice guy I have ever met, he makes you feel like you are not a burden to him and he has all the time in the world for you – the complete opposite to my previous doctor. He had a few results to some blood tests back, although not all of them are back and he’s ordered another 5 or 6 tests to make sure that what he’s found is causing all my symptoms or whether they’re just adding to some other disease. So what he found… I have a severe vitamin B12 deficiency, the same with folic acid and I may also have PCOS but that isn’t for sure. I have started on folic acid tablets and I have 3 injections Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the B12 and then I’ll have them every 3 months for the rest of my life. What I didn’t realize was that my Grandmother who died when I was little died from Pernicious Anaemia which is caused by a B12 deficiency but medicine has evolved so much since then that I’m not worried. When you look at the symptoms of both it all seems to fit the bill and even though it’s not exactly good to have something wrong with you, I am happy that there is something wrong and it’s not all in my head.
Symptoms of B12 deficiency include:
pale skin, often with a lemon tint
menstrual problems
poor resistance to infections
If the deficiency goes on too long, the nervous system is liable to be affected, causing:
tingling of the fingers and toes
muscle weakness
tenderness in the calves

Symptoms of folic acid deficiency include:
tiredness and palpitations (awareness of heartbeat).
Shortness of breath and dizziness (fainting)
If the anaemia is severe, it can result in angina (chest pain), headache and leg pains (intermittent claudication).

All of these symptoms I’ve experienced so it’s all adding up now. Hopefully once I have the 3 injections next week to give my body a boost of the B12 then I’ll start to feel better and can get on with leading a ‘normal’ life.
So that’s what’s been happening with me, never a dull moment eh lol Oh and the good news… I shall be back in a bit with a new kit and some quick pages which I hope you’ll like. It is my favourite kit so far and even though there’s a theme to it, I think it’s pretty versatile and can be used for any photos.
See you in a little while.

Bad Blogger & Freebie

I am such a bad blogger... Sorry for the lack of posts and freebies lately but not only have I (still) not been feeling well but my 3D life hasn't left me any room to create. With the little one being off school for the summer holidays, I spend as much time doing things with her as I can and I get tired out so easily these days that I'm in bed early. What a wonderful life I lead eh!
No news from the doctors as yet, but I suppose no news is good news. I do have to do another 24 hour urine sample as they gave me the wrong bottle grrrr and I have my follow up appointment at the end of the month.
Anyway, I have a new freebie for you. 35 teenage wordart tags, created at 300ppi so ideal to add as a finishing touch to your layouts. Included are:
As If, Awesome, Babe, BFF, Blah Blah Blah, Boyfriend, Brat, Dork, Dude, Duh, Ewww! Fabulous, For Sure, Freaky, Get The Picture?, Girlfriend, Hook Up, Hot Stuff, Hunk, I Was Like..., Like Totally, No Way, Off The Hook, Partay, QT Pie, Rock On, Say What?, Shut Up, Umm, What A Babe, What A Hunk, Whatever, Whoa, Wow! & Yeah Right.
I hope you will like and be able to find a use for them. Don't forget to leave me some love should you download.
Hugs Dee xx
